The Benefits of Using Cold Lasers!

The Benefits of Using Cold Laser

Cold lasers are often used in the office while you are completing your brain exercises. Cold lasers have been known to decrease inflammation, increase energy to the body’s cells, decreases pain and increases brain function. We generally place these lasers on the cerebellum, frontal or parietal lobes to increase the brain’s function. This therapy is non-invasive and painless, but can help you achieve great results!

How Does The Laser Work?

The term cold laser therapy is used because the low levels of light are not strong enough to heat bodily tissues. This type of laser is used for therapeutic purposes, using red and near-infrared light to cause a reaction within the cells. This reaction is what promotes healing, energy, and regeneration of cells and tissues. The use of the laser can also assist in a faster healing process for tissues that may have been damaged.

The laser is set to a specific wavelength, usually between 600-700 nanometers, and placed on the specified area for 5-10 minutes. The length of time that we use is 8 minutes because we believe that it is an ample amount of time for the laser to create a positive change within the body. Anything less than 5 minutes is proven to have little to no effect on the related tissues or cells and over 10 minutes was shown to have the same effect as leaving the laser on the area between 5 and 10 minutes. The benefits of using the cold laser will be seen when there is continued use.
