Manage Autoimmune Disorders

An autoimmune disorder is when your body’s immune system starts attacking healthy cells by mistake.  There are over 80 types of autoimmune disorders. Left untreated, they can often progress from one to another, increasing in severity. The most common ones are:

  • Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Lupus
  • Celiac disease
  • Addison disease
  • Sjogren’s syndrome
  • Polymyalgia rheumatica
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Anklosing spondylitis
  • Type 1 diabetes
  • Alopecia areata

Your red blood cells are supposed to protect you against invading harmful substances, such as bacteria, viruses, toxins, cancer cells.  Instead, when you have an autoimmune disease, your body starts attacking healthy body tissues and organs, destroying them in the process.

Treat Adrenal Fatigue & Auto-Immune Disorders

Autoimmune disorders are tricky to diagnose.

Your symptoms can so often be attributed to other conditions. I’ve had patients whose primary care doctors told them they were lazy, over-scheduled – or just being melodramatic hypochondriacs. Each condition has it’s own unique presentation, but common symptoms include:

  • Chronic fatigue
  • Depression
  • Hair loss
  • Weight gain
  • Joint pain
  • Rashes

What can be even more mystifying is that your symptoms may flare up… then fade away. Autoimmune conditions are considered chronic diseases. One of the best ways to stay healthy is to acknowledge that you have this condition and do everything in your power to keep it under control.

How We Treat Autoimmune Conditions

Often there is no “cure” for autoimmune conditions.  The goal with our autoimmune treatment plans are to:

  • Reduce symptoms
  • Control the autoimmune response process
  • Build up the body’s ability to fight disease

This area of my practice is one that is most personal to me. If you’ve read my About Dr. Steve Puckette page, you’ll know why.  Far too many patients go undiagnosed or don’t receive proper treatment. Over time, this costs them relationships, money, health – and sometimes their life.

We offer comprehensive treatment programs that may include:

  • Nutritional support
  • Supplements
  • Manual therapies
  • Cold laser treatments
  • Rebuilder electrical stimulation
  • Neurological / brain exercises

Every patient receives their own personalized treatment plan. We will collaborate and communicate with your primary doctor, endocrinologist, rheumatologist, oncologist or other specialty care provider to ensure that you receive the very best care possible!
